Pop up alert! I attended the Candytopia pop up in New York this weekend. If you are looking for things to do in New York, Canytopia is located in midtown not far from 34th street. It’s open for four months in NYC and also in San Francisco right now. It opened August 15th in NYC!
I was excited to see the newest eating focused interactive art installation. I attended on a Saturday in the afternoon around 6:00PM. If you do not want to attend with lots of kids I would recommend visiting during the week as a lot of children are excited to attend the closer it gets to Halloween. It was a very cute exhibit and started with a tour guide introducing and greeting us for the exhibit. You have to purchase your tickets ahead of time like the other pop up events I’ve shared with this summer.
Candytopia is open Monday through Sunday at different times, so you need to pick a time and book in advance as tickets are not available at the door. Its $34 for adults and $26 for children up 12 years and free for children up to 3 years of age. This will end in NYC on November 30th so there is still time to book tickets.
Candytopia was like walking into Candy Land or the Willy Wonka Factory. Its full of vibrant colors and tons of flavors to try in every room. It includes great photo ops including a candy sphynx, portraits of Celebs, and candy sculptures of animals like fox, sharks, and pigs.
I felt the candy sculptures were well done and took a lot of work to create. It was one of the more creative and pretty installations I’ve seen in a while. The candy sculptures were made by candy artist Jackie Sorkin. Some portraits were made from 8,000 pieces of candy!

They host private events, birthday parties, and group visit so if you have a birthday or group event coming up this is a great place to book. If you’re interested in any of these it’s the perfect place for a good time with friends while its in NYC. I was blasted with confetti in one of the rooms! If you can tell in some of the pictures I had confetti in my hair and was cleaning it out of my purse for days. A few kids took a dip in the marshmallow pool, but I decided to skip since it was so crowded so sorry no pit photos this time.
I felt like a kid on Halloween collecting as much FREE candy as I could throughout the experience. It takes a little over an hour to experience the entire exhibit. I took my time in each room since there were so many great photo ops and cute sculptures.
There’s also a lounge at the end of the exhibition that is so cute. You can order drinks, purchase candy and relax at the end.
For the love of candy I would recommend visiting to satisfy your sugar rush! Its almost Halloween so its a great place to bring the kids too!
