Pinknic Rosé Themed Picnic and Music Festival
Pinknic Rosé Summer Festival on Governors Island in NYC is one of my favorite summer festivals in NYC. It’s a rosé themed picnic infused with an outdoor music festival. Pinknic started in NYC in 2016 and has grown every year. I’ve attended the festival in 2017 and 2018, however this review is based on my experience at Pinknic in 2018. If you love Rosé, this is definitely the Picnic for you! This event is multiple days during one of the first weekends of the summer in New York City.

Tickets for Pinknic Rosé
One of the first things to do is purchase tickets for Pinknic Rosé summer festival a few months in advance. It’s best to sign up for emails on the website for notification when the tickets are released. The earlier you purchase the better! The prices for early bird tickets or purchasing in advance are always cheaper than buying closer to the date of the event. There are multiple tiers to choose from when buying tickets, and separate sections to set up your picnic at the Pinknic event.

My Pinknic Rosé Garden VIP Ticket Access
I had the Saturday Garden VIP ticket in 2018 which provides access to additional separate VIP areas for food and drinks, including separate bathrooms and VIP transportation on a ferry with a smaller group. They also provide hammocks and tents in the VIP area as well, and expedited entry into the park with shorter lines and a few other perks. After you purchase your ticket you need to plan your outfit, food, and transportation.
What to wear to Pinknic
To attend the Pinknic Rosé Festival there is a MANDATORY white and pink dress code for entry to the park. I think the colors are one of my favorite things about attending this picnic. It’s one of the prettiest picnics in NYC. I always start to look for an outfit a few weeks in advance and matching accessories. In NYC the weather is so unpredictable, therefore we can only hope for good weather when picking your date.

Luckily, the weather was beautiful on Saturday. I wore a fitted white skirt, pink crop top, pink studded flats, pink feather earrings from Aldo, and a clear tote bag including my Shein clutch. I’ll link similar looks to shop below.

I recommend wedges if you want to wear heels. After wearing heels the first year, I learned the hard way flats are the way to go! Your walking all day including once you arrive on Governors Island over to the venue.
What to pack
Pinknic provides you with pink Pinknic towel, wine glass, and a tote once you arrive along with a few other goodies depending on your tier. You are also welcome to bring your own food, although there are numerous food options when you arrive to choose from. Lines get longer later in the day, so if you plan to purchase food on site, its best to arrive early!

You will spend a lot of time on lines unless you purchased upgraded tickets in advance for one of the other areas that provide picnic baskets and bottle service.

I also pack my festival beauty must haves in my bag. Check my Festival Beauty Must Haves post to see whats in my bag, including my basics I need when attending any festival. I’ve also added this Beauty and the Planet Coconut Water and Mimosa Flower Showerless Cleansing mist to my must haves from the event.
How to get to Pinknic
Every year I park my car in a garage near the ferry to Governors Island because after a long day at the park I prefer to get in my car after and drive home. There are multiple subway lines near the ferry if you prefer the train. Based on the ticket you purchase, you will receive instructions via email prior with the specific location to catch your ferry downtown to governors island.

Be sure to check your emails a few days leading up to the event for any updates and list of what is or is not allowed to bring to the park. Signs are set up downtown to help you find your ferry, and if all else fails follow all the people in pink and white. We found our location for VIP tickets and boarded the ferry early.

Arrival on Governors Island
When arriving on Governors Island you will have one of the prettiest views of NYC. Plan on walking for about 10-15 minutes over to the actual venue and try not to carry bags that are too heavy or wear uncomfortable shoes. Governors Island is one of my favorite places in NYC! It’s a great place to bike, have beautiful views of the city for photos, and has tons of events and fun installations. This is a great place to spend a day in the summer in NYC.

There are also restrooms along the walk to the venue and historical sites and buildings. Once you arrive at Pinknic, there are separate lines depending on your ticket, so be sure to check you’re on the right one before waiting!
Things to do at Pinknic
We were greeted by these two fun ladies when we arrived.

When you enter the event, there are tons of instagrammable photo stations set up, gourmet food from NYC finest, great music, and tons of drinks to start the day. The first thing I do is head to the full service bar so I can load up on drinks and water.

It was such a hot day! I headed straight to the tents to pick a spot and lay in the hammock and relax.

The ice cream was so good!

The Bai Drinks, fans, and Umbrellas were perfect for the heat.

I found this Beauty and the Planet Coconut Water and Mimosa Showerless Cleansing Mist that helped keep me cool throughout the event.

I love the music by the festival stage and spent time dancing with my friends.

There were so many fun installations and pop ups around the park to try. It was good vibes all day.

Leaving Pinknic
Honestly it was one of the best days of the summer and one of the best ways to kick off the summer!

I left Pinknic a bit early this year because I was tired, but the festival ends around 9:00PM with music and fireworks that are worth staying to view.
